Agape.

I talk about love all the time. But pretty much everything I am doing boils down to it. I am reading a book called “From Spiritual Slavery to Spiritual Sonship” and it puts it like this:

God is love. The kingdom of heaven is all about perfect love, joy, and peace with no fear, insecurity or anxiety… A person who loves God is one who seeks for the love of God to be made mature and complete in his or her daily relationships… The whole mission of creation is about receiving love and bringing us into unity. Love is to be the inspiration, the driving force behind everything the Church does…

Our goal is to love God and by loving God we, in turn then love our neighbor. But we can’t love God until we really KNOW God. The best kind of love comes from knowing someone intimately. And we cant love others until we come to love ourselves. Many times we find ourselves trying to change people in our relationships – instead of enjoying who they are. The people who are in your life are there for you to have relationships with – to enjoy them and build them up, not to constantly hate things about them. Love. Love. Love. Putting aside pride and thinking about the other person before yourself.

Heres a thought for today my friend Bekah said to us: Examine your relationships with EVERYONE. Do you think about yourself negatively? If so, how are you transferring that into other people? What you think about other people is a key indicator about what you think about yourself. Think about your relationships with your parents, husband/wife, exboyfriends/girlfriends, friends, family. How have you been treating them?

Heres some pictures of the people and relationships here in Nicaragua:
