Here are some pictures of the ministries that many of us are involved in.

The DUMP (BASURERO)
A Place of True Poverty. Where People come and fish through trash every day in order to make 2 dollars.
Theres constant smoke over the place at all times.

The ministry at the dump brings food to 60+ people that work there and talk to them

LITERACY PROGRAM (Clases de leer)

During the literacy program, we do homework, read, teach math, draw. And just give the kids love who need it. Most of these kids are hanging out in the street all day long.

Young Life (Vida Joven)
Vida Joven is where a bunch of teenagers/young adults go to hangout, play games, dance, sing, and usually a person gives a little message at the end. I dont have many pictures of Vida Joven but more will come soon!
The theme here was Hawaiian. Somhow that means Garrett wears a womans hat. Heather is on the right. She is one of the main leaders of Vida Joven.

Jicaro.
Pronounced hee-ki-row. This is a project where kids from Vida Joven work on making bracelets, candles, bowls, and other such things out of this fruit/seed type thing that grows off a Jicaro tree here.
This is the tree that Jicaro grows off of. It sorta bubbles off the side of the tree then falls off.

Unfinished Jicaro before it is sanded, varnished, and cut.

Here are some finished bracelets ready for sale!!

Theres so much happening here in Granada. So many diffferent things to do and help out with. I do not have pictures yet from ESL, the nursing home, the hospital, the garden, or the homeless ministry. But im sure I will have more soon.
