So heres the dealy-o, missions trip has changed a bit. No longer are we FYM’ers, we are now officially……REAL LIFE – Novås project (thats the 8 month missions trip name)
Well I think Novas means “new” or symbolizes a “new way” as its said on the website. (Actually the word novas is a firy explosion from a star if anyone wants to know) But pretty much life as we know it will change. The missions trip isnt just any blah old missions trip where you go and your life isnt impacted…This is a real life change. A chance to “tap into the heart of God and never go back to the ordinary.” To actually live outside the box. To explode with the love of God and the passion we have to do the work we have been given.
No longer are we in Nicaragua. We begin the trip in Matamoros, Mexico. We learn to live with, teach, and worship with a small family there, our “adopted family.” Then after that we get to pick a country to go to, out of the missions networks that AIM has. So not only do we get to have hands on experience, we now have tons of opportunities to go pretty much anywhere in the world. I can still go to Nicaragua, but the opportunities are endless now 🙂 Im pretty excited about this…. One drawback, i prob wont get to see my family for christmas 🙁 But hey sacrifices arent sacrifices unless we give something up that we absolutely love. And we are told to drop everything to follow Him. And that is what i plan to do.
Im still probably going to cry my heart out when i leave home, but I’m going to have the best 9 months of my life in whatever part of the world I go to.. and that is all that matters 🙂
isnt this exciting!?
this trip will be awesome.
let me know how i can be praying for you
